Metaknight145: Oh god yes, though I still hate how much Babs Seed sounds like Snookie.

BleedinSkull: "Better believe it, Bad Seed!"
Why wouldn't Apple Bloom just say that to Babs Seed in the begging of her bullying and not give a single fuck.

Roflcakes: I like that the moral of the episode was "Never stand up for yourself! Instead, always find an adult to deal with it for you!"

Cause y'know... That always works, right?

Anonymous3: And thus Apple Bloom got a cutie mark resembling stitches.

The_Elder_Troll: Did this episode end up being good?

BigBoom: @Roflcakes: It's how the world wants people to think. "Oh, shelter your kids from bad adult themes so they don't know how to handle them when they grow up!" Psh. I was bullied growing up. Got in a fight and almost had my head smashed into a nail-riddled fence post. This generation is full of a bunch of helicopter parents always hovering around their kids 'protecting' them...

On a related note, RIP Talking Derpy

The_Elder_Troll: @BigBoom: You can say that again, I used to be that one shirt kid in the grade and got bullied for it all the time. Got in a fight myself and punched a piece of the kids tooth into the back of his throat. And now I AM TALL!

The_Elder_Troll: *sigh* short* not shirt.

BigBoom: @The_Elder_Troll: Heh, I got bullied just for being the youngest of the group at the time. Hazing FTW!

It's sad, because the two kids that bullied me were actually super cool when they weren't together and fuckin' with me.
avatar
- Reply
Roflcakes: @BigBoom: Yep, that's pretty much my view on it. Finding an adult to come swoop in and save the day was only a temporary solution at best, so after a while I just stopped bothering and took things into my own hands. It's funny how quickly it became a non issue after that...
avatar
- Reply
The_Elder_Troll: @Roflcakes: If you think about it, it makes it worse. It gives the bully more ammunition and reason to beat you up, and for longer, or worse whatever...
- Reply
Anonymous4(1): Depends on the situation. It would have worked in this episode only because AB and Babs are relatives. Otherwise it's a bad idea, especially since non-relative bullies are much crueler.

Roselucktheslug: My best solution to bullying so far is to aggressively not give a shit

Anonymous5: Casey the Punisher. That's how you deal with bullying.

BigBoom: @The_Elder_Troll: Have you ever read Ender's Game? Good book. Also, it gives a valuable lesson right in the first chapter...

"I beat him up so bad that he wouldn't bully me again." Ender hospitalized a kid. Like, IV-drip hospitalized. If you do something like that, ain't nobody got time to bully you.

As a side note, my Firefox autocorrect says that 'ain't' is a word. Huh.

The_Elder_Troll: @BigBoom: Hah! Read? You ask gummy(Gomenasai), Rolf, Lapp, Faptacular, and bAv if I "read". Pfffffft! Readin is for people who can't handle the things that happen in front of thier eyes.

The_Elder_Troll: And on a side note of my own: My computer corrected reading into readin.

Faptacular: EONS AGO... Okay, not really. More like 18 years I had a bully problem. Went to an adult (our teacher.)

Her solution: Write a story about it and share with the whole class. She made it mandatory.

That didn't end well for me.

Roflcakes: @Faptacular: Uh... Wow. WOW.

What the hell is wrong with some people?

Lord_Adam_Trollingsworth: @Faptacular: I was bullied by a kid in shop class. Then I put on my best Patrick Bateman face and threatened to take a gun to school and murder the entire class. He didn't talk to me for like, a month, then we became good friends.

Hierolocc: I solved my first and only bullying experience with a headbutt to the nose.

After that I developed a sense of humor and tried to become likeable and didn't have any further problems.

Anonymous6: @Roflcakes: How about "Violence isn't always the answer" or "Two wrongs don't make a right" or "Sometimes it doesn't hurt to talk to someone who can help" or "Pride isn't worth bad blood between family" or "Don't let bullies stop you from stopping them" or "A lot of bullies are just projecting issues from home onto the people they bully, so kill 'em with kindness but don't be surprised when that doesn't work right off the bat" or a million other options?
It's not about helicopter parents, it's about telling us that there are always better options than fighting. It's about promoting a way to make friends, not to stamp your feet like you're the biggest ape in the jungle.
