First, this is one of the free pics, so there won't be a promo (non-porn) version. It's only the pay pics that get posted briefly and then replaced, and even then only very rarely. Normally, only the promo is posted and no one ever sees the original for free.
Second, we don't allow the promos to be non-porn any more (that was a titanium thing). Now the promos have to qualify as porn like everything else. A few of them do, most don't.
soheifox: Oh good. I noticed that now. All gone. I was not a fan of Oni whining about his "right" to charge people for fanart. Until he paid some portion of royalties upstream, as far as I'm concerned he was just a pirate bitching about others pirating his piracy, and this site had somehow decided he was special and the rules didn't apply to him.
soheifox: Mind you I never cared about him getting his pay art removed from here, those ARE the rules of the site, but I disliked him getting to skirt the rules of said site all while pissing and moaning about how others were pirating his piracy. It seemed to reek of hypocrisy.
OniArtist: To be clear, I never "skirted any rules." I never uploaded my own art here, and while I have no problem when other people do so (aside from the HU stuff), I never asked for it, or any other special treatment.
Also, I would have no problem kicking a cut for my pics up to license holders, if there were some simple way to do this. In the meantime though, I do ask that I get my cut for the work _I've_ put into them, and I think that's fair.
soheifox: @OniArtist: Oh but there is a simple way to do that. Ask them to license the characters. When they tell you "no" and you keep doing it anyway, you're still a pirate bitching and moaning about others pirating his piracy.
Anonymous8: @OniArtist: Disney or Lucas would never let you draw Star Wars porn, or even dare to use their 'property'. If it wasn't for the freedom of the Internet or groups like the EFF, you would probably be dead in a ditch somewhere, after their hitmen delivered a very special DMCA notice just for you. Face it, Disney would fuck you up if they could get away with the public backlash, so don't try to present this as black and white.
OniArtist: @soheifox:
And you wouldn't get any Rule 34 art. It's a bit of a catch 22 if you enjoy this sort of thing, and if you don't, then why are you even here?
Keep in mind, There's nothing any more shady about making rule 34 art and then charging for it, than there is about making it at all. They are both equally copyright violations, or both equally fair use parody, but neither is more acceptable than the other.
soheifox: @OniArtist: Normally I stay out of things when my wife argues with people, but she's right aobut this. There is something shady. She herself has created something, and you have no right to make a single solitary cent off of it; yet you have, and so have other 34 artists.
She does not care about free 34, because that's just fanart. But when you start charging people money to see your art of other people's characters without first getting permission of the creators or right holders? You are, in fact, a scumfuck.
soheifox: Although apparently her problem is that you steal from her and others like her yet piss and cry if someone steals your theft from her, and others like her. She believes there's nothing wrong with commissions, but you have no right to cry when others spread your creations around for free.
Me, I'm harsher than that, but hey, unlike her I've never created a character and marketed it, so I can't understand what the boundaries should be for something you created.
Of course, neither have you, Oni. You market other people's characters.
How about you all stop being whiny bitches and enjoy art where you can get it?
I'm sure those who complain about Oni making money wouldn't want LucasArts to get in the way either, that would mean one less artists who doesn't make sigh in despair when I see his work (because he's good).
