Anonymous2: I have no problem with OCs as long as they don't overdo it. If it looks like it could possibly be on the show, even as a background character, I'm fine with it.
By the way this is great, the OC isn't some Snake eyed dragon Alicorn like a lot of them.
Lapp: ShadowSonic, it's like when the Hebrews invented Yaweh and said "He is best deity and not has weakness!"
Creating something that is perfect is creating something that is quintessentially inhuman and unrelateable.
This is one time that I prefer Latin, as the "perficio" in Classical (dunno about ecclesiastical) Latin simultaneously means "perfect" and "terminal", or literally that something has an explicit state of completion. The implications it creates would have made my initial point so much more pithy :O
Chef_Retardee: @ShadowSonicZ: Yes, oh yes. This is why many have a bland main character that any reader can replace with themselves. this has also given us the standard 'ghost dick' pictures.
Sukartist: *Laughing at the anon hate except for 2*
I still don't understand what is the problem with an OC being with one of the characters personally, it's like arguing that celebrities on TV should only hook up with celebrities and not anyone they want.
Anonymous6(4): @Sukartist: Some people actually have some kind of sensitivity about certain characters (but it's not so common), and it's kinda like a good kick in the nuts for them to see stuff like this. Most people don't pay it any mind though, b/c they're not like that.
Bottom line: Posting yourself having relations like this with a popular and respected character brings much more harm than good, and it's best for things like that to be kept private. (This may be Rule34, but this guy's got a Tumblr blog containing his attempts to pair himself with this character...)
Anonymous7(4): @Anonymous: When I said "most people don't pay it any mind" I meant the average fan. You'd be surprised how many people will get mad over self-inserts to popular characters.
Anonymous8(4): @Anonymous: and @anon 7, that is understandable, but try not to think about it so much if it bothers you, a good solution to this is to simply ignore it altogether. Remember, just because this OC is in there doesn't make it real/canon/whatever, it's nothing but an idea in a picture. Rule 34, K? :P
It's not such a biggie, chill.
Sukartist: @Anonymous: Well, this was actually only on my blog, someone else uploaded it here... as well as many of my other stuff... the only thing I've uploaded is a chrysalis anthro pic no one ever paid attention too.
I still don't mind my drawings popping all around though, it actually gives me more people interested in what I do from time to time.
I've never really cared what anyone thought when I drew these self inserts at all. Although I am quite happy many people think the Oc look decent, that's actually a thumbs up for me.
PinkBallons: @Sukartist: The main thing that I like in this pic is the shared expression between Luna and him, it's a refreshing change from the usual cocky OC "I'm doing this because sex" attitude. I also enjoy your OC's design in general, and find his commitment to Luna adorable.
I'm glad you weren't angry to find this uploaded here.
