Anonymous9: I'm going to assume he's trolling, as the director of the movie said they were straight. Not that it really matters when it comes to fanart. But officially, canonically, they are not gay.
Anonymous12: @Anonymous9: Really Casarosa never said directly that Luca and Alberto are straight or not gay, he just said simply that the film is not all a queer story, that is, it is not mainly focused on a lgbt relationships. (But he doesn't deny neither that it's a Allegory/Metaphor of the Lgbt World against the decriminalization, as affirmative on his Twitter.) Plus, he just said that two boys are FOR NOW friends just because still young and because they met just a few time. Same also for Giulia. As it happens with many young people, some friendships can turn into love over time as they get older and more aware.
Anonymous13: It's literary a children tale of friendship, and fucking creeps and weirdos make fanart and gay pairing shit about CHILDREN. Twitter was a mistake
Anonymous14: ^ indeed, it's just fanart, here all are fictional characters, not the real life. Second thing, they're not technically children, but teens, since the adolescence begins around about 13 years. And Luca, Alberto and Giulia are 13 and 14 years. Another thing is that being gay means not all just sex. It can to be also just romantic. sexual attraction is not to be confused with romantic attraction, they are two very different things. Same also for hetero people.
Children don't yet know about sexuality, that's true, but they already know about romance/love. In fact, They can experience a crush even at a young age, among themselves. For example, I had a crush on a cute guy in my class when I was 8 years old. In return, I had also kissed kindly him, even if usually I was a shy little girl. Just innocent romance.
Him: @Anonymous: let's not twist the director's words. He denied that they were gay or that it was a gay-based movie, and also denied any romance subtext at all which also means no Luca x Giulia. He still accepted all interpretations of the plot in that many different people can relate to feeling different and hiding who they really were. It's not just gays that have gone through that; nerds and geeks, religious people, minorities with different skin color, etc, all of them have felt like outcasts. That's why this movie connects with many people who watched it, yet there are some that insist it's a gay movie or that it has only gay undertones, when that's not the case.
Anonymous19: Like... We have the right to do that, who cares about some words really ? Like, you come here to say homophobic shit but I think the worst part is still that they are probably MINORS and are shown having sex and getting raped here. Really, and the ONLY THING you find to argue about it if they're gay or not.
Well you know something exist right : bisexuality, polyamor, pansexuality ?
But I guess you're too stupid to think of that.
