Anonymous2(1): @Crimson-Snow: Don’t really have an opinion on best or worst. Just going by who looks hot and would probably be a good lay. Although now that I think about it, Anzu is the only that doesn’t have a shitty end. I’d take her last in that case.
Crimson-Snow: @Anonymous: Pfft Kishimoto is bets girl and not just in looks idk what Anzu not getting a shitty end counts for anything since they are all alive here. Mangaka failed heard imo.
Anonymous3(1): @Crimson-Snow: Kishimoto is pretty hot but a little too passive for me. I get that the girl kind of has issues she’s working off though. Maybe if she was given more time to come around and develop. I dunno, maybe it’s just me but if she turns out alright in the end then it feels like there’s less to make up for. I just find it odd how they all died for a guy they liked and Anzu’s the only one that it works out for despite being absent from the thing since her death and only turned up at the 11th hour to cash in that paycheque. It’s like the writer had completely forgotten most of things he introduced like the whole vampire thing and just threw it in at the very end. But hey, at least there is an end, disappointing and dissatisfying as that ending might be.
Crimson-Snow: @Anonymous: I will come right out and admit the writer can't write for shit to be honest. HE introduced some very good ideas and characters but most of them don't get the right treatment. At least because of the game there are alternate universes where the other girls get to live and be happy so there's that at least.
Crimson-Snow: @Anonymous: I want to also say I like Kishimoto most because I like her personality and felt she was most realistic along with Tae. It helps that I saw the 2004 anime before reading the manga and the anime loves Kishimoto.
Anonymous4(1): @Crimson-Snow: Yeah, I kinda thought there’d be an answer for why Gantz started changing the rules and just did things differently. It seemed like interesting ideas were just introduced and were never fully explored, explained or followed up on and given no rhyme or reason. Things simply happened because. Like why did Tae become a target all of a sudden? I’ve seen quite a few writers raise questions to stir up intrigue with no real answer or payoff and it’s frustrating every time.
I actually started with the anime too and the ending was kind of disappointing so I followed the manga hoping it would end better. I feel like I’ve been got. And after Game of Thrones, I hesitate to start anything that hasn’t already ended yet.
Crimson-Snow: @Anonymous: I would recommend the Hokuto No Ken franchise to you and also Berserk. Much much much better series than Gantz but same mood ect. In fact you may remember Kato mentions Kenshiro the main character from Hokuto No Ken a few times in early.
Anonymous5(1): @Crimson-Snow: I’m aware of the series. It’s also known as Fist of the Northstar or something. I’ve seen some of it. I guess Berserk is a recommendation as a manga? I’d heard mixed things about the more recent anime adaptations. It’s definitely on my list of things to get to eventually.
Also I had no idea Gantz had.a game thing. I know Japan has lots of extra stuff for series that don’t really get circulated. I think there was a few live action ones and a kind of nice looking CG movie.
Crimson-Snow: @Anonymous: Yeah the Gantz game never got a usa release sadly. Anyway well I think FOTNS is the best series of all time but I guess some people just don't get as into it , well as for Berserk the 90s anime is good. However all the animes fail to do the manga justice so far at least as well as they could. I would actually start with the 90s anime for Berserk and then start reading.
