ChaosWolf: I personally believe Claire is pre/non-op, based on the strip where she acts so hesitant/anxious about undressing for Marten prior to their first time. As if she was worried he might not like what he saw. A post-op trans woman probably wouldn't be so nervous to expose herself, because in that case nothing would look unexpected from the parts possessed by a cis female.
Jeph might not have said anything directly, but he still revealed her status rather clearly nonetheless.

This sounds a little idealistic about vaginoplasties CW, simpler surgeries have had noticable complications.
Anonymous3: @tyciol: Here's the way I see it. QC is obviously set in a world that's more technologically advanced than our own, what with AnthroPCs and such. It's fair to assume that medical science has advanced to the point that complications from such surgeries would be close to nonexistent. Of course, the comic's world seems accepting enough such that most folks wouldn't mind either way about a trans person's genitals, and of course Claire herself might not want surgery. God, I'm overanalyzing this. Point is, it really doesn't matter storywise whether she's had surgery or not... much like how a trans person in real life having surgery (or not) wouldn't be the business of anyone outside of themselves and their partner(s).
nixton: Personally I believe she is post-op, mainly based on the fact that early on Marten has stated his stance on anal sex, which as he so eloquently put it "no poo poo on the pee pee". If Claire does indeed still possess a penis I can't see Marten engaging in any sexual activities with her beyond maybe oral sex, and it's implied that they have definitely gone all the way. Plus it's clear the Claire has some anxiety issues as well as Marten being her first sexual partner, if not for her whole life than at least since she transitioned from male to female.
Besides, I think anyone who has gone through the gender reassessment process would be nervous with undressing in front of their partner for the first time, regardless of if they've had surgery or not. There are plenty of cis people who are nervous about getting naked in front of their partners. I know I was nervous doing so my first few times.
flondrix: She is sweet and adorable and nothing bad should happen to her EVER!
nixton: There are all sorts of things two horny people can do together to get each other off, provided each of them possesses some sort of orgasmy organ with enough nerve endings left in it. If your girlfriend had an orgasm and fell asleep in your arms and Pintsize unfurled the Arbor Day 2003 banner...no one can say you "didn't go all the way."
None of this will make sense to anyone who has not been following the strip, of course.
