Anonymous8: It's in "poetry". I've never been able to understand that language, despite the superficial similarities. The grammar, syntax, word usage, all of it is so vastly different.

skunktail: first note... its: now is the winter of "our" discontent

it really has no fixed meaning...

but here is what college grade English says
now is the winter of our discontent

The oppression of our family, which made life like a long winter, has been turned to a summery contentedness now that my brother is king.

so as with most people the artist construed the saying into a negative thing.. or a positive... counts how you look at the artwork

Anonymous9: This is not Shakespeare, the quote is from A tale of Two Cities, and it makes no fucking sense in this context.

IAMELIPHAS: Translation: This picture sucks ass.

Zig_Fighter: What the shit, I've seen better Zelda porn smeared in blood in bathroom stalls.

Also, the quote is incredibly bizarre, given the scene depicted.

Anonymous10: It was the best and oddly worst of times.

Anonymous11: I think "winter" here symbolizes the end, as winter is the last season of the year. So... end of discontent? I'm probably wrong.
- Reply
Anonymous12: Not because it is the end of the year, but because all things end in winter, in a silent glistening death where life cools and retreats to its inner hideaways.

You realise DIScontent means NOT content right?
College grade English must fail rather hard...

Anonymous18: Anon 15, he means summery like one would say soured, so the conentedness is being soured by something. Also, I call unnesecary dickery.

Urbane_Guerrilla: Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this son of York;
And all the clouds that low'r'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.

mylifeislol: Fuck, your right. knew I spelled unnessesary wrong. I would'nt have stood for anything but perfect grammar in my younger days.

Urbane_Guerrilla: @mylifeislol: Hm. I don't stand for anything but perfect grammar now. Not fully. I can forgive, but solecisms really strain that forgiving faculty, and without need, dammit.
