hentaiboy2: @IM_IIHTARW: Well, the McGruff House program, which gave children in emergency situations a temporary safe haven, only ended in 2012, and I believe the mascot costumes are still in use. The "Samantha's Choice" short that Ms. Tery was featured in only came out in 2011 or so. So, yeah, I think a lot of younger people might still know McGruff, but more likely through their school than from TV.
The mascot tag is questionable to me, since I based McGruff after his animated appearance, not the costume. It seems to me that if this tagged as 'mascot', then every picture of Mickey Mouse would have to have the same treatment.
