You shouldn't let things like filesize hold you back artistically. There are ways to optimise an animated GIF.

Also, you can post a reduced version over here and then put a link in the Source field to some external website with the full version for download, for example.

I'm saying this because you have "GIMP" in your alias and, if you're into open-source software, Blender can be used for this.
