Captainlesbo: @Anonymous: nah that doesnt make any sense xD even bowser said that is not peach`s child, so no maybe bowser jr probably came from a Bowser`s egg, since he has nothing related to peach (he is exactly like bowser)
Anonymous4: @WhiteWhiskey: Actually, the Koopalings we're technically never Bowser's kids to begin with. Nintendo of America's version of the Koopalings and cartoon counterparts made everyone believe they are his kids, when Nintendo of Japan were still developing their characteristics. This is way back during Super Mario World. They have been known as "Bowser's Minions" rather than children like here in the US.
Miyamoto may have just went along with the idea for the time being until Bowser Jr came along. So, in a way, Bowser having seven kids was unintentional.
Spike4072: Somewhere in a run down apartment on the bad side of the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser's wife sits feeding their baby while seven Koopa orphans run around tearing the place up. He had left a note that morning telling her not to wait up. He would be working late at the office again. Just like every night for the past three weeks.
Anonymous5(2): @Spike4072: Or she's in an out of the way Dark Lands Castle, She's just never shown for the same reason Tony Soprano's wife wasn't around when he was running his gangland take over
Anonymous6(4): @Anonymous: That actually makes a lot of sense. Not many people from the fan base knows this, but Miyamoto and Itawa wanted barely any back story for the Mario characters. So its pretty much leaving it up to the fans to create their own image about Mario and his friends.
Besides, Bowser having 8 children for no real reason sounds really dumb anyways.
Anonymous7: @Anonymous: Actually, that's not quite true. Even the original Japanese SMB3 manual had Bowser refer to the 7 Kokuppa (the Koopalings) as "his kids", with various kids throughout the text reciprocating by calling him "Oyaji" (re: "Dad"). The only thing that the US version of the SMB3 manual added extra were the Koopalings' names (where they had none in the JP original).
Later games and works would play down the connection, true, but there's a reason why the Japanese side referred to the 7 as his kids for as long as we did in the West. And even now, Ninty doesn't care enough to update the story blurbs for SMB3 on the VC in any region, which only helps this idea stay around.
I wouldn't be surprised if they change their mind again and just made them his kids again. This is the same company that's made numerous retcons to the likes of Zelda and etc., after all~!
