OrokaJunk: Looks like Samara got some already and is breeding a little sister for Morinth.

Just a thought... would Ansari have genetic problems if a mother and daughter mated?

Anonymous2: @OrokaJunk Bioware would never comment on incest but who knows... That could be the one cure.

OrokaJunk: IIRC it takes a few generations of inbreeding to get genetic mutations... but they do say they breed outside of their species for 'genetic diversity'... so I guess you end up with more Ardat-Yakshi.

Another thought... if there are no male Ansari... could an Ansari impregnate themselves? It would end up being an exact clone.

Where the fuck did I leave that book on Ansari biology? :/

JunkoXan: it's Asari, not Ansari. figure I'd throw that out there. as for Mother and Daughter thing in this case Morinth would of killed Samara and since Morinth is an Ardat and sterile (no children possible) it wouldn't be much benefit.

there's no evidence to prove whether it takes a few generations or not as Falare, Rela and Morinth that we know of are the oldest of all of Samara's children and all 3 are Ardat's. as for this exact clone piece, it's dependent on the arrangement of the genetic code whether the genetic code would mostly be the Mother or Father. in the case of Morinth her make up was more that of Samara than the Father. they cannot impregnate themselves as their melding ability doesn't go that route, they always require a mate.

Anonymous3: Asari reproduce by copying a mate's genetic code and using it to randomize their own. I would assume mother/daughter and father/daughter relations would be taboo because of the lack of diversity.

Now that I think about it, a father shares no genetics with a daughter. So technically it wouldn't be incest.

quwykxz: Asari are almost clones anyway; they only use a little of their mates' DNA to randomize a tiny part of their own DNA, so the child is probably something like 90% or more pure DNA from the one who gives birth, therefore an almost exact-copy clone.

itymotoadict: @OrokaJunk: There's actually a "why-don't-you" joke in one of the games, goes: Why don't you make like an Asari and go fuck yourself. (Another completely useless piece of trivia I probably forgot something important to remember.)
