notanonymous: @Anonymous: No idea. Not being into the ME series, I have no idea which is the default (though I suspect male, given a majority of gamers are male themselves, and prior to Tomb Raider female protagonists were kinda low-key).
Anonymous5: There kind of is. Not defending it, but the male Shepard is the one they used in most of the advertising, he's on the game covers, etc. You can argue that's fucked up, or that the gender bias in games in general is fucked up, but there's no denying that Shepard as put forth most often by the creators and advertisers is male. Alright, now everyone just fap. This is a porn site. Conversations on semantics and/or the patriarchy are what grad school is for.
Anonymous7: @notanonymous: there are TWO defaults, maleshep and fshep and you can see them first when you start the game, the maleshep is the bald dude and fshep is the redhead beauty.
To other anon, just because maleshep was everywhere does NOT mean he's the protagonist. MARKETING DOES NOT MEAN CANON. MARKETING DOES NOT MEAN CANON. Okay? Good.
Bioware was just following the stupid way of marketing, showing only the dudes in pretty much every fucking game with gender options because they think they're the majority which, by new facts, they're wrong.
