At no point have Blizzard ever said "and thrall got boned by Jana". Jana was in a relationship with Arthus (and possably history with Kael).

It is possable it MIGHT happen one day, but so far they are JUST friends.

The only reason Blizzard is trying too hard to retcon it is because the majority of their costumers are Alliance players and severely butthurt that their most lore-influential NPC was the Horde's warchief's favourite mount.
