Anonymous1: Im surprized anybody remembered the game this is from

Anonymous2: Geno was an awesome character and makes a small cameo in Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, also, Mario RPG kicked serious ass, so it would be sad if no one remembered it. We need a pic of Geno firing his rocket fist into someone's nether regions... That would be even more WIN than this pic, which is already major WIN.

Anonymous3: I stil got to say Geno would have been an awasome add to smash bros

Anonymous4(2): Maybe he'll make it in as an assist trophy (for those who haven't been keeping up on Brawl updates, it's kind of like a pokeball, except other Nintendo characters come out of it).

Anonymous5: FUCK YEAH, GENO! Best game evar

tehmeatballs: Geno was confirmed a newcomer last week.

Serious_Business: ^lies
Geno most likely will not as he's copyrighted by Square-Enix and not Nintendo.
- Reply
Foppe: Like that would stop them.
Sonic is copyrighted Sega and Solid Snake is copyrighted Konami. And as said before, Nintendo used him in Superstar Saga, a game made by Nintendo, not SE.
- Reply
Serious_Business: That means S-E has to give them permission.

Sega gave it, and Konami fucking BEGGED Nintendo for Snake's addition.
- Reply
G-Man: That begging story gets bigger every time I hear it. First Kojima asked his good friend Sakuri to add Snake, then it was that he begged him, and now apparently Konami begged Nintendo, the owner of the IP of Smash Bros (HAL studios are the people creating it), to add him.

Anyway, you are a fag Serious Business. Geno is a mutual asset. All Nintendo has to do is cite proper cross ownership with SE of Geno in the credits to whatever game they feel like using him in.
- Reply
Serious_Business: Not at all. Nintendo had no part in the creation of SMRPG, all original substances are purely trademarked by S-E. They only gave creative license and money to Squaresoft to make it.
Perhaps my information comes from a bad source about the 'begging' issue, but it adds for nice effect.

G-Man: Nintendo owns the IP of Mario and all games therein. Therefore they own any characters Square Enix made have made in SMRPG. The same goes for Donkey Kong Country and all assets therein, otherwise we'd be seeing Donkey Kong games on Xbox. Stop talking like you know anything about law, licensing, or vidya.

Jones: You know, this copywright stuff reminds me of last week's Weekend Web update on SA, for some reason.

Serious_Business: I've got to hand it to you, you've played by all the same rules, it takes the truth to move me, and now you've made me angry...
~I can't decide whether you should live or die Oh, you'll probably go to heaven, please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside, it's cold and hard and petrified
Lock the doors and close the blinds, we're going for a ride~

Meh. At least I know how to lose an internet argument rather than shouting 'im rite' over and over.
So I know jack all about licensing and trademarks.

G-Man: It is alright Serious Business, I still love you. Come...crawl in my briefcase. It is warm in there.

Anonymous8: Why would Square Enix want Geno anyway? -.-
I mean they're not gonna use him.

Anonymous9: why the fuck is the ice climbers in ssbb but not geno? btw i would love to be geno, walking around with eternal wood

Reverend_Killjoy: Not one person made mention of the hilariously obvious fact that Geno is totally giving Peach some wood.
