evilpika: This is a spoof of Splinter of the Mind's Eye, a Star Wars novel written after the original movie came out but before the Empire Strikes Back was released. It's funny because the book plays up the sexual tension between Luke and Leia a lot. The author hadn't been told that they would be revealed to be relatives later.
