Anonymous1: Really great image, nice use of shading and the paint splatter effect on the edges is superb, however this style only really lends itself to styles with higher detail. Not saying that this image is of itself low detail but the level of detail given by the shading should be comparible to the level of detail given by the sketching or preliminary drawing. Like I said there is nothing inherently wrong with the image, however with the level of detail in the shading compared to the detail in the drawing it comes off more as a distraction than anything else. This seems like an image which cannot decide for itself whether it wants to be higher or lower detailed. For example if you're going for a suggestive low detail image the abs could be replaced with a wide-angle, inverted '3' shape with softened sides to show off her curves, the addition of the abs however which fade to solid black are strange to look at whenever there's no obvious light source. Especially whenever you look at the head and it's almost void of detail.

The chest and below are really great, however what I feel lets down the image most is the lack of detail on the head, the crown of the Xenomorph Queen is its most dominant feature. Without a size comparison there is really nothing to stop me from looking at this and saying "Hey, that warrior has a pointy head... maybe it's a praetorian" It's female but the genders of Xenomorphs are never explicitly stated and they're often assumed to be ever changing in nature. Like certain species of frogs they would be able to change gender whenever needed for the hive.

yay, Over Analyzation~

LewdnCrude: Regarding Xenomorph gender, it's usually the standard in supplementary materials and stories to refer to them as female, given their matriarchal society and the ability of certain underlings to metamorphose into a new Queen should the old one be deposed or killed. In addition, Xenomorphs that are explicitly stated to be male are also often ones that have been genetically tampered with by humans or other species, and thus aren't the natural standard for the species. Granted, gender seems somewhat irrelevant to creatures that breed by infecting others, but the Queen's parthenogenetic quality to produce eggs independently of male assistance does lend credence to the species being, overall, all-female. As to whether they're ever changing in terms of gender, it seems unlikely; they have no need to alter their gender when, ultimately, their reproduction comes down to parasitism, not sexual interaction. To that end, the female gender suits them even better, what with the Queen's need to lay eggs containing those precious rape-spiders.

Well, with my musing on the biology of unholy acid monsters complete, I thus move on to my true purpose here; Goddamn I love those huge queenly titties.
