NoNameOrDate: First and second is more about figuring out the shape systems and proportions that made up penny, and third was just stylizing it my way but maintaining similar shapes/proportions.
NoNameOrDate: Ive studied art formally. And books/learning materials all vary on what you are looking for. There are numerous tutorials on the internet, like ctrl paint or KNKL channel on youtube, or sycra, or etc. Going through tumblr too, like doxy's stuff, can get you info. Boils down to just starting somewhere.

It's rare to see material focusing exclusively on character art. I think the best, if not the only one I know, is Andrew Loomis' "Fun with a Pencil." He deals a lot with character construction.
NoNameOrDate: Its all the same thing. Basically, all artists learn about the same things, but apply them differently. For this kind of stuff, its just about breaking things down into simpler shapes, and how they work together. That kind of mind set and stuff is just things you pick up when you study art in general.
