Every once in a while I tend to make edits of images I like. I have done this a few times in the past (mainly a few Ben 10 images) and I have stated a few times over on wwoec that the image was either edited or modified. If you look closely at some of my images, it will have a "modified" tag on it. As for my reason for leaving: Besides the obvious one like trolling, there are several other things about this community that I didn't agree with. Looking through the DNP list, I can see that there are others who would probably say the same thing.
The level of complaining people can perform here is astounding even when it comes to something that is free to look at. I was fine with it for a while, and I would usually not mind it... but it can eventually get to even the most think skinned of people. This community is very unforgiving to new, up-and-coming artists. When I first started out, I was shit terrible, and only through positive, constructive criticism was I able to improve. In this place, if something doesn't meet a persons "standard of acceptable quality" they thrash it and say things like: "This artist should be punched in the neck!" If you are a person who spends time on something, shares with with other people freely, and then gets feedback like this... Wouldn't you want to quit? Saying "man up" isn't going make a person feel better about all the scrutiny.
In conclusion, there is still a good amount of stuff on this website to look at; in the long run, no one is going to miss the crap I make. (That's all it is! Crap! And it's all done in shitty MSPaint in my spare time for fun!) I'm not quitting. I'm just doing what I had originally planned on: Posting in a small thread over on wwoec's forum and trying not to be put under the unforgiving scrutiny of the internet's microscope.
Anonymous2: @RandomRandom dont listen to all the retards, i love your work.
if the pic looks good i dont give a crap if its traced or not!
its really sad that this community is build from so many trolls...
Sinus: alot of beginners need to use tracing in anycase, never got the big deal. There's so much art out there, it takes me enough time to download and sort the stuff I want, much less going through the trouble of 'busting' an artist. Just seems lame.
dankwart: @RandomRandom: Hey man, I know exactly how you feel. We try to do some nice pics and post them for free so everyone could enjoy it but there's always a troll making hurtful comments and complaining about stupid things.
That's why I left for a while. Now I'm only posting at HF and even there you may find these fiends.
RogerTheRabbit: @dankwart: Hey man, I ain't no troll! And I never complained or made hurtful comments. I always posted nice things on his uploads. I was just explaining to anon what happened. Its me,a nd others who were really trolled, always cheering RR on and he was faking it the whole time.
Anonymous4(3): So RandomRandom's three paragraph response defending his leaving amounted to nothing more than he couldn't handle the mean bullies making fun of his crappy drawings.
craggle: pretty much, a4. getting your art trashed means either the art needs work, or you're being unfairly targetted by trolls. says nothing bad about you, and nobody really believes it does.
going DNP means you, personally, are a whiny bitch, and it lets everybody know it. personally, i'd rather people mock my art than me, but hey, bitches be bitches.
General_Vagueness: seriously? it's the Internet, and you've clearly been on it for a while, how do you not expect strong negative responses to everything you do?
