A little about Fresh Water Lagoona now known as Serena
I have always said that Lagoona is one of my favorite MH girls to work on. Fresh water lagoona was a bit of a challenge for me.
I didn't like the bright yellow hair she originally came with & her skin color wasn't inspiring a lot of creativity.
Because I never plan my and I just start painting with no specific look in mind, some dolls are more challenging than others.
First I decide to have her re-rooted in this beautiful red color which I felt would compliment her skin color.
The next thing was painting her eyes green which usually goes well with red hair, for some strange reason I decided to incorporate some of that yellow hair color she had with her original hair into her new look & do an editorial mermaid'ish look. The face paint has a fish scale look to it as well as the paint on her hands & body, just the left side of her neck, shoulder & part of her chest & arm.
I painted her fins & found the perfect outfit after the fact. Gold shoes & OOAK gold earrings complete her look.
