RWBY x Warhammer 40K - Ruby Rose

Mephiston looked upon the many Blood Angels before him as he studied them at the Fortress-Monastery on their homeworld of Baal. He used his psykic mind to see which battle-brother was most likely to succumb to the Black Rage that taints their Chapter gene-seed and looking over them came across one of the youngest members of their Chapter, Sister Rose of the 3rd company leading a squad of Assault Marines. She was an interesting addition to the Chapter many decades ago when indoctrinated. Her willingness to join the noble Blood Angels was higher than many of the other neophytes and when the Librarians looked into her soul they saw a pure soul unlike any seen before in the Chapter's history. Many of them believed they saw a part of the Great Angel Saguinius within her as if blessed by their glorious primarch. Once she passed the harsh training and was accepted as a true Blood Angel she rose through the ranks in a few decades to become a Sergeant in the 3rd company earning many battles honors from several campaigns. But, the most interesting side of the Sister was her genuine care and respect for the regular humans she fought and guarded alongside  to protect and minimize their casualties during battle. Some battle-brothers that have fought alongside her have reported her always leading from the front of the squad fighting with honor and leadership to drive her brothers to victory. Causing many to swear oaths of respect and loyalty to her in gratitude. Mephiston went over to the Sister who was praying at one of the altars dedicated to the Great Angel. (I see you are praying Sister Rose) said the Chief Librarian. Sister Rose stood up and turned to kneel before the senior Blood Angel (Yes Chief Librarian, I was praying for Sister Polendina's soul to rest in peace with our primarch. For I still feel sorrow for her loss and anger for the one that killed her many years ago) replied the Sister in confession. The battle report of the engagement saw the Blood Angels' 3rd and 5th companies to support an Imperial Shrine World's request for aid after it was invaded by the Word Bearers seeking to desecrate the main shrines in the capital city. The fierce urban battle saw heavy losses on the two companies while inflicting a great many dead on the traitors side as well. During the defense of the main entrance Sister Rose led her squad to hold back assault after assault alongside her close friend and fellow sister, Sister Polendina, who was once a fellow neophyte during the initiation of Rose and the two fought side by side since then. However, one assault was found to be lead by a Sorceress of the Word Bearers Chosen Veterans who fought both sisters in a duel. Sister Rose was injured from a near mortal blow by the foul Sorceress but, when the witch readied the finishing strike Sister Polendina intervened and took the fatal blow in front of her sister eyes. The sight of her closest sister and friend caused Sister Rose to succumb to the Black Rage within her as vengeance for the loss of her fellow sister. Sister Rose's rage was so strong even the Chaos witch was momentarily overwhelmed by its sheer strength and the possessed Blood Angel lunged at the traitor tearing out her left arm and gouging her left eye with an unmatched rage not seen before. The severely injured Sorceress was only able to escape when a horde of cultists charged at the rage possessed Astartes allowing the witch to flee and cursed out loud for revenge the next time she appeared again. After the battle was over and the traitors driven off world was Sister Rose found surrounded by uncountable numbers of cultists and a dozen Word Bearers tore to pieces. At first she was viewed as dead from the wounds she received but, an Apothecary looked her over and found she was still alive. Taking her back to Baal to recover, the Librarians were informed about her succumbing to the curse and were about to decide sending her to a Death Company, when the sister's voice was weakly heard saying she was in full control over her sanity, this was a shock for all in the room. No Blood Angel, aside from Mephiston, had ever recovered from the effects of the flaw in their gene-seed in their entire history. Some cried heresy but, others believed the purity of her soul was what kept her from falling under its control. Mephiston feeling the strength of the pureness within her sided with those calling for her to remain alive and spared her the execution many of those who truly succumbed to the Black Rage are fated to receive. (I sense the emotions in you, young one. But don't let them cloud your judgement for they will cause you to fall into darkness.) said Mephiston to the young Blood Angel. (Yes Chief Librarian, however I can't help but feel I failed her for allowing her to die from that witch's blade.) replied Sister Rose. (You have proven to be one of the most pure of our Chapter, but, even the most pure can fall into shadow. Remember that Sister and you will have your vengeance on the Chaos witch who slew your fellow Sister and that you injured during that battle.) (I will remember your words for as long as I live unto my dying breath and when that happens only then will I accept the serenity of death and join the Great Angel alongside all of the other Angels who gave their lives for their duty and service to the Emperor of Mankind.) vowed Sister Rose readying for the day when she will face the traitorous witch again in combat and finish what she started many years ago. "'By the Blood of Sanguinius' this I swear before the Chief Librarian Mephiston as my witness" thought the young Blood Angel preparing to continue her duty, for the Chapter, and for her fallen Sister.
